EXPLORING SENSUAL ROME 2009

We invite you to the vacation of your dreams – a week of sensual delight in beautiful Italy. As with the other programs in our Exploring Sensual Italy series for gay men (Venice 2005, Florence 2007), this will be a week of slowing down to experience another Italian urban area from the inside out.

We believe that in today's fast-paced world, where hard-working people spend their days harnessed to computers and cell phones, it is spiritually rewarding to take time to refine simple pleasures.

This retreat offers more than simply the opportunity to get away from ordinary life. We are inspired by the ancient philosophy of Epicureanism. Dating from the 4th century B.C., Epicureanism taught that the pleasures of the senses offer an immediately verifiable standard of truth and therefore can serve to cultivate wisdom, justice, and happiness.

This is our ninth year of facilitating retreats for gay men in Italy.  We offer you the opportunity to see one of the world's truly grand destinations with people who know Italy and who like to experience places often unseen by casual visitors.  We help you explore the difference between "tourist" and "traveler," and to really appreciate this marvelous place.
