John Ballew is a licensed professional
counselor and a massage therapist in private
practice in Atlanta. He has an MS in Clinical
Psychology and is a member of the Society for
the Scientific Study of Sexuality. A faculty
member of the California-based Body Electric
School, he has facilitated workshops in gay
spirituality through North America,
emphasizing the connection between body and
soul. His work embraces both Eastern spiritual

books about theater, he is a frequent contributor to the Advocate, and his essays
