The facilitators
John Ballew is a licensed professional
counselor and a massage therapist in private
practice in Atlanta. He has an MS in Clinical
Psychology and is a member of the Society for
the Scientific Study of Sexuality. A faculty
member of the California-based Body Electric
School, he has facilitated workshops in gay
spirituality through North America,
emphasizing the connection between body and
soul. His work embraces both Eastern spiritual
practices and a sex-positive Christian tradition. For more information on his work,
Don Shewey is a writer and pleasure activist in NYC. A certified gestalt therapist
and a massage therapist trained at the Body Electric School, he has a private
practice that centers on spiritual, emotional, and erotic renewal. He has written
extensively on sexuality and spirituality and recently contributed a chapter to
"Men Like Us: The GMHC Guide to Gay Men's Health." He has published three
books about theater, he is a frequent contributor to the Advocate, and his essays
have been included in numerous anthologies ranging from The Politics of
